GrowMeUp Project present in Professional Ethics training 

Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra set for 2014-2015, a training cycle for its employees, entitled Professional Ethics. The various sessions held in May and June covering 744 employees.

On 14 and 15 of May and 4 and 5 of June were held four sessions involving employees of various equipment of Cáritas de Coimbra, in wich were discussed the topics: the ethical principles and ethical standards in the specific contexts professional practice and “the importance of ethics in the consolidation of an institutional identity” by Professor Joana Vieira Santos, Professor Miguel Ricou and Professor Rosa Melo.

Within the GrowMeUp, international project of robotics directed to the elderly, Cáritas Diocesana de Coimbra coordinates the work related to ethics and deontology, signaling issues related to the introduction of robotics in everyday life and data security and privacy. In Professional Ethics training sessions promoted On May and June by Cáritas de Coimbra, the GrowMeUp Project had a particular focus through a presentation and an informative poster on it. It was possible to get to know the initiative through a video of the innovative robot interacting with a human, showing its features and services.

The GrowMeUp is a project co-financed by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 funding program, which involves eight partners from six different countries, led by the University of Coimbra, whose main purpose is to perfect and test an innovative robot, the GrowMu, which will support people over 65 years in their daily activities.
