Cáritas Coimbra discussed policies for aging in Valencia

Caritas Coimbra participated in the Conference Transferring EU Public Policies into Regional Social Innovation: improving Active and Healthy Ageing for a better society, that took place from June 6 to 9, in Valencia, Spain.

This event brought together in Valencia a number of European and non-European organizations working to improve the quality of life of older people to discuss and propose innovative solutions that contribute to encouraging active and healthy aging by leveraging Silver Economy opportunities and sharing good regional and National authorities in a quadruple propensity perspective – involving public authorities, academia and research, business and civil society, including third sector organizations.

On June 7, Caritas Coimbra attended the sessions of the ENSA (European Network for Social Authorities) and ELISAN (European Local Inclusion and Social Action Network) networks, and participated in the brokerage event organized by them. Some projects were presented in the area of ​​active and healthy aging and those present had the opportunity to exchange ideas and contacts to build partnerships for future initiatives.

Caritas de Coimbra had the opportunity to report on its experiences and strategies for a healthier aging, sharing actions and projects that it develops, as is the case with Growmeup.

June 8 was dedicated to the European Innovation Partnership for Active and Healthy Aging (EIP-AHA), where Caritas Coimbra presented and moderated the work session of group D4, regarding the Implementation and Scalability of environments friendly to all Ages. In the first part of the session several members of the group presented local and national experiences and projects in the area of ​​friendly environments of all ages. The second part was devoted to updating the D4 group’s innovation and collaboration plan for 2016-2018.
