Caritas Coimbra Projects at the European Social Network Forum | Brussels
Projects such as IdoVis, GrowMeUp and Crearte were shared as examples of Social Innovation at the European Social Network Forum (ESN), which took place on 20 and 21 April in Brussels.
Inserted in the panel dedicated to Social Innovation and Financing, Carina Dantas, Director of Innovation of Caritas Coimbra presented some of the projects of the Institution as relevant reasons so that the institutions aimed at social support throughout Europe do not fail to seek to innovate in the responses they provide emerging problems.
For the forum, ESN chose “the future of social security systems” as the main theme, which presented four main pillars: transformation of social security systems, growing inequalities, social innovation and social inclusion.
In addition to the formal presentations made by several speakers, discussion groups on intervention priorities, good practices and the reinforcement of research and quality associated with Social Work were also encouraged. Demographic changes were a focal point of this event, as were the areas of mental health and disability, children at risk, migrants and refugees, and various forms of poverty.
ESN is a network of more than 120 organizations (35 countries) that make up national associations of directors, public social action departments, regions, counties and municipalities, funding and regulatory agencies, universities and other research and development organizations.
